Maker in China competition launched in SZ

THE eighth Maker in China Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was launched in the city Wednesday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The Maker in China is a national competition organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance. It has been successfully held for seven times.

The competition’s Shenzhen chapter, themed on the cultivation of smaller enterprises that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, focuses on the selection of high-quality projects in the fields of 20 strategic emerging industrial clusters and eight major development directions outlined in a plan by Shenzhen authorities.

The Shenzhen chapter’s top seven in the enterprise group and the top five in the maker group will enter the national top 500 shortlist to participate in the national finals.

The purpose of the competition is to find and cultivate excellent projects and teams, promote the development of new technology and products, share the experience of top enterprises, help winning projects find resources they need and accelerate the high-quality development of SMEs, a senior technology official said.
