The first aerospace industry headquarters base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Grater Bay Area (GBA) was officially inaugurated yesterday at Satcom Tower, also the headquarters of APT Mobile Satcom Ltd. (APSAT), in Bao’an District.
Aerospace technology is one of Shenzhen’s eight major development directions for future industries, according to the guidelines released last year to develop strategic emerging industrial clusters and foster future industries.
The GBA aerospace industry headquarters base will play a crucial role in the incubation and development of the aerospace industrial chain, according to Hu Gefeng, chairman of Shenzhen Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite, Ltd.
Hu pointed out that the key to the growth of the aerospace industry lies in effectively integrating the upstream and downstream segments to maximize industrial efficiency.
“Shenzhen has a solid foundation to develop its aerospace industry with many leading companies such as Huawei, DJI, SF Express and BYD that play a major role in terms of the future applications of aerospace technologies,” Hu said.
Bao’an has formed a relatively complete aerospace industry chain and created an innovation hub for aerospace-related ventures. In November last year, Bao’an took the lead in Shenzhen to release an implementation plan designed to accelerate the development of the aerospace industry, Nanfang Plus reported. (Shenzhen Daily)
