SHENZHEN North Railway Station’s 30-member service team initiated an assistance service for passengers who need help.
The service team will provide wheelchairs and stretchers for the elderly, injured or disabled passengers. Those who need assistance can make reservations via the WeChat account “深圳北站迎春花爱心服务队” 24 hours ahead of their departure or arrival, according to Li Yuan, head of the service team.
“My 17-year-old daughter just completed abdominal surgery in Shanghai and has difficulty walking. We will arrive at Shenzhen North Railway Station on Jan. 17. Can you help us exit the railway station?” a Shenzhen resident surnamed Shi left a message on the WeChat account, asking for help. After seeing this message, the service team confirmed with Shi and arranged team members to escort her daughter in exiting the railway station.
The WeChat account has opened service reservations for assistive or mobility devices, lost and found services, and punctuality checks and ticket information consultation. (Shenzhen Daily)
