THE international association ChinaEU and the Go Global Service Center of Nanshan District signed an agreement last week to establish a hub in Brussels, Belgium, to strengthen economic ties between China and Europe.

Nanshan District is one of China’s premier hubs for artificial intelligence, telecommunications, advanced manufacturing, and biotechnology.

Under the memorandum of understanding they signed, ChinaEU will help Nanshan enterprises expand into Europe by providing regulatory guidance, market access, business matchmaking, and investment support. Conversely, the Go Global Service Center will assist European companies in exploring Shenzhen through policy consultation and integration into local supply chains.

Luigi Gambardella, president of ChinaEU, said the partnership moves beyond traditional trade.

“For many years, Europe and China have cooperated mainly through trade, investment and technology exchange. That model remains important, but it is no longer enough,” said Gambardella.

“In the age of artificial intelligence, robotics, intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, the greatest opportunities will come from co-creation,” Gambardella said. “European and Chinese companies must work together from the beginning to design products and build new markets.”

Gambardella described Nanshan as one of China’s most dynamic innovation districts. He noted the partnership aims to build a “practical bridge” for deeper cooperation in emerging technologies.

The new facility, named the Global Service Center – EU & Belgium Hub, is intended to strengthen Nanshan’s presence in Europe and facilitate innovation and mutually beneficial partnerships, according to Shenzhen Huitong Global International Services Co. Ltd., the operator of Nanshan’s Go Global Service Center.

The initiative will support business delegations, innovation missions, and investment promotion events in both regions. Selected projects may also be developed under a future ChinaEU-Nanshan Co-Creation Program.

ChinaEU is a Brussels-based association promoting cooperation between Europe and China in digital technologies and innovation.

Established by Nanshan Distric, the Go Global Service Center is a comprehensive international service platform offering one-stop, full-range services and support to both Chinese companies expanding overseas and international enterprises seeking opportunities in China. (Shenzhen Daily)
