The Development Research Center of Shenzhen Municipal Government (referred to as DRCSZ, also named the Policy Research Office), founded on May 14, 2011, is a government-affiliated department dedicated to providing strategic insights and policy solutions centering on important issues in local economy, social development, Reform and Opening-up, providing suggestions for the Shenzhen’s medium and long term development plan and social development policy as well.
DRCSZ launched the Postdoctoral Innovation Base that collaborates with Peking University, Fudan University and Harbin Institute of Technology to recruit, train, and provide first-hand experiences for post-doctorate fellows to participate in policy research. Since its establishment, DRCSZ has carried out extensive cooperation with both domestic and international think tanks, and has jointly produced hundreds of high-quality research reports.
In the “2016 Chinese Think Tanks Report” released by the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, DRCSZ ranked 32nd among the top 100 influential think tanks in China and the 3rd in the local political parties think tank system. In the “2017 Chinese Think Tanks Report” and“2018 Chinese Think Tanks Report”, DRCSZ continued to hold the 3rd in the local political parties think tank system. DRCSZ has getting more and more attention and recognition with only five years, its development has reflected both “Shenzhen speed” and “Shenzhen quality” while manifesting the tremendous progress in Shenzhen’s competitiveness.
