THE Eye of Pingshan – OCT Pingshan Complex Project, also known as the IM CENTER, has been crowned the gold winner of the Urban Design & Architecture Design Awards (UDAD) 2022, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Thursday.

The project, located in Pingshan District’s central area, is a key construction project with an investment of about 6 billion yuan (US$887.4 million) and a total construction area of about 280,000 square meters.

A 250-meter super high-rise is planned to be built, with the highest quality office and retail spaces, as well as a luxury five-star Marriott hotel, to make it a landmark in Pingshan with a highly recognizable façade.

The super high-rise IM CENTER’s sensuous curves flow to create a bright eye, giving the core idea of “opening” a strong visual metaphor, according to the design team.

The project was developed by OCT Group and was designed by world renowned architectural firm RMJM.

The Urban Design & Architecture Design Awards is hosted by Architecture Press Release, a leading architecture press body, with the idea of acknowledging the works of professionals and students across the globe in the architecture and design field.

The award, which focuses on the relationships between nature, architecture and community, as well as between architects and cities, aims to recognize the practice of new technologies, spatial aesthetics and material exploration, as well as research on globalization, flexibility, adaptability and digital changes.
