QINGFENG trail, a hiking trail on Meilin Mountain handmade by residents, has opened to the public.

The trail was designed by Shenzhen Urban Transportation Planning and Research Institute Co. Ltd. and made by dozens of volunteers consisting of residents. It was made by manual work instead of using machines to minimize the project’s impact on the environment.

It connects Qingfeng Ridge and Meilin Mountain Country Park Hiking Trail, which, as the city’s first handmade hiking trail, opened to the public at the end of 2019. Along the Qingfeng trail, hikers can learn about plants and animals along the path, as well as the techniques used to make the trails by hand through the illustrations installed.

Hikers can walk to the trail after exiting from the Metro’s Meilin, Meicun or Shangmeilin stations or take public buses B821 to the trail. (Shenzhen Daily)
