THE Line 1 section between Laojie (老街) Station and Luohu (罗湖) Station will be suspended during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb. 12-18.
The suspension was made to give way to the renovation of the tracks at Luohu (罗湖) Station that will improve the capacity of the trains after overhaul.
Bus services (公交接驳) will be arranged at Grand Theater (大剧院), Laojie (老街), Guomao (国贸) and Luohu (罗湖) stations at 5-10 minute departure intervals.
The section between Grand Theater (大剧院) Station and Airport Station (机场) will remain normal.
Line 1 handles about 1 million passenger trips a day and the renovation project over the tracks is expected to increase the capacity of Line 1 by 10-20 percent during rush hours.
The renovation project includes replacement of conversion equipment, upgrading the signal systems and tracks that will shorten the departure time of the trains.
The operator advised that residents to Shenzhen Railway Station can take Line 9 and disembark at Renmin South (人民南) Station, which is about 200 meters away from the station. (Shenzhen Daily)
